The campaign has worked hard to address the issues facing our community. Over the tenure of Mike O’Connell we’ve tried to jail our way out of a mental health epidemic. This has only served to delay treatment and criminalize a great deal of our population. Short term budget gains are not an indicator of success when thousands of lives are destroyed and hundreds of lives are lost. Brent Ackerson wants to make changes in the justice system in Louisville, KY and is humbled by the support of multiple Fraternal Order of Police lodges throughout the metro area.  Brent has committed to partnering with law enforcement as well as mental health advocates to make sure we’re healing the community while jailing violent offenders.
